Karnataka imposed a weekend curfew and put a 50% cap on seating capacity in theaters. Cinema halls are closed in Bihar. Punjab and Delhi also imposed a 50% rule. Many other states are planning similar restrictions as COVID-19 cases are surging.
Telangana is also witnessing a huge number of COVID-19 cases again.
The current scenario is not apt for big movies to get a theatrical release. Hence, Rajamouli’s ‘RRR’ got postponed. Now, ‘Radhe Shyam’ has followed the same route.
Our sources say both ‘RRR’ and ‘Radhe Shyam’ are looking at summer holidays. ‘Radhe Shyam’ might release on March 18th. ‘RRR’ will lock a date in April. But before the makers announce a new date, the COVID-19 crisis should come under control.
Meanwhile, medium and small films including Nagarjuna’s ‘Bangarraju’ have geared up for release in the theaters this Sankranthi festival.
