“Salaar,” the season’s biggest film starring Prabhas, is set to hit theaters next week. The film was sold to high rates for distributors in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana. For the film to be profitable, the distributors need hike in ticket rates.
Distributors in Telangana can screen the film for a maximum of Rs 295. With the government’s permission, an additional Rs 50 rupee hike can be used for a week. Now that the state has a new government, it remains to be seen whether the team will approach the government and request another Rs 50 increase.
Insiders say the distributors received confirmation from the “Salaar” team that the Andhra Pradesh government has agreed to raise the film’s rates for the first week. The official announcement will be made next week. There will also be early morning shows.
“Salaar” is a Hombale Films production directed by Prashanth Neel. Shruti Haasan plays the heroine in the film.
In an interview, Prabhas stated that Neel is the best director he has worked with.
“He’s the best director I’ve seen in 21 years. I was eager to hear when he would contact me for the shoot. I wanted to spend time with Prashanth more than I wanted to go to the set or perform. This was the first thought that came to mind, and I had never felt anything like it in the previous 21 years,” he added.
