Actress Sanam Shetty issued provocative statements regarding filmmakers in Kolywood, the Tamil film industry. Sanam Shetty, originally from Bengaluru, has performed in numerous Tamil, Telugu, and Kannada films.
She portrayed a supporting character in Mahesh Babu’s “Srimanthudu” and Sampoornesh Babu’s “Singam 123” in Telugu. She has acted in numerous films in Tamil and also participated in the 2019 season of Bigg Boss Tamil. Sanam Shetty has vehemently criticized the upcoming Tamil film, Bad Girl, produced by Vetrimaaran, asserting that it promotes promiscuity among young females.
She stated that the film does not advocate for equality. Additionally, she stated that the Tamil cinema industry was the first to rectify matters.
Sanam Shetty alleged that the majority of Tamil filmmakers invite female actors to their places not for the purpose of acting but for sexual encounters.
“Where is the equity within the industry? Do male and female actresses receive equal salaries? Are male and female actresses approached in the same manner? I am articulating from my experience,” she asked.
Sanam Shetty boldly asserted, ” When we think they call us to act in movies, instead they call us for sleeping with them.”
