Director Shankar and production house Lyca Productions have failed to come to an understanding. Neither of the parties withdrew their stand and the stalemate continues.
The case is all about ‘Indian 2’ (Bharateeyudu 2), and Shankar’s recently announced Ram Charan and Hindi remake of ‘Anniyan’.
Lyca Productions had moved to court in Chennai seeking an order Shankar to restrain him from taking up any other project, till he completes shooting of Indian-2.
The judge asked them to come to settle the issue out of court, if possible. So, Shankar reportedly had agreed to give bulk dates after June, and Kamal Haasan was okay with this plan. But Lyca insists that Shankar sign a bond to saying that he would not take up any other project (especially Ram Charan’s film). So, talks between them failed.
On Wednesday (June 16), the bench adjourned the matter by three more weeks. Until then, there will not be any clarity about Shankar and Ram Charan’s film.
Producer Dil Raju had announced this project as his 50th production. He wanted a pan-India project like Shankar and Ram Charan movie for such an important milestone. So, he is more worried about this case.
