Veteran lyricist Sirivennela Seetharama Sastry was hospitalized on Saturday night after developing breathlessness and fever. He was admitted to KIMS Hospital in Secunderabad.
The hospital has released a health bulletin on Monday. He has been suffering from pneumonia.
“Currently, he is under close observation by a team of expert doctors and is getting treatment in the ICU. We will keep you updated regularly on his health status,” read the hospital’s health bulletin.
Sirivennela Seetharama Sastry was earlier honored with Padma Shri for his contribution to film literature.
