Soundarya, one of the leading actresses of the 1990s and early 2000s, met a tragic end at the peak of her career in a plane crash.
In April 2004, she boarded a single-engine Cessna 180 from the Jakkur airstrip near Bengaluru, Karnataka, to campaign for the BJP in Karimnagar. Just five minutes into the flight, the aircraft burst into flames and crashed, killing everyone on board. Soundarya and her fellow passengers were burned beyond recognition.
Now, two decades later, her death has resurfaced with a fresh police complaint filed in Khammam district.
The complainant, Chittimallu, alleges that Soundarya’s death was not an accident but a murder tied to a property dispute involving veteran actor Mohan Babu.
As a result, Mohan Babu is now facing another legal case. He had previously shared the screen with Soundarya in films like “Pedarayudu” and “Shiva Shankar.”
