Spirit: Prabhas – Vanga’s film kicks off with muhurtham shot

Prabhas starrer “Spirit” has finally gone on the floors. After months of planning, director Sandeep Reddy Vanga launched the film with a traditional pooja ceremony. The muhurtham event was held on Sunday at Vanga’s office in Hyderabad. Megastar Chiranjeevi attended as the chief guest and formally launched the production.

The event was attended by lead actress Triptii Dimri, producers Bhushan Kumar and Krishan Kumar, and Pranav Reddy Vanga, who performed the rituals and the muhurtham shot.

This marks the official start of production, nearly four years after the film’s announcement, bringing Prabhas and Sandeep Reddy Vanga together for the first time. Triptii Dimri is making her Telugu debut with this film.

Spirit cast and crew

Raj Thota, known for his work on Arjun Reddy, is handling cinematography. Harshavardhan Rameshwar, the composer of Animal, is scoring the music. “Spirit” is the 25th film in Prabhas’s career, and he will be seen as a cop for the first time. Vivek Oberoi and Prakash Raj appear in key roles. Korean star Don Lee is said to be the antagonist, though the makers have yet to officially confirm his casting.

The film is being produced by Bhushan Kumar, Krishan Kumar, and Pranav Reddy Vanga under Bhadrakali Pictures and T Series.

Prabhas’s new look for Spirit

Prabhas was present at the ceremony, but the team refrained from revealing his pictures. He is said to be sporting a completely new look for the cop role. A test shoot for his look was recently conducted at Vanga’s office.

The first look will be revealed next year. Recently, an audio teaser featuring AI-generated voices of Prabhas and Prakash Raj created strong buzz. Spirit is expected to hit theaters in 2027.
