Nikhil Siddhartha

Nikhil Siddharth’s ‘Spy’ is set to be released on June 29. This announcement was made with great fanfare by hero Nikhil Siddharth. However, he is now said to be requesting that the producer change the date.

So far, the film has received little promotional buzz. He believes that this short time frame is insufficient for the film’s promotion in all languages. As a consequence, he is insisting that the producer announce a new release date. However, producer K.Rajashekhar Reddy believes that changing the release date now, after all agreements have been made, is a foolish idea.

The OTT rights to the film were sold for an enormous amount of money. In fact, the producer has recovered the majority of the production costs through OTT rights. So, if the release date is pushed back, the producer fears that the OTT company will refuse to pay the same amount.

However, because the film is about Netaji Subash Chandrabose’s death, Nikhil Siddharth believes it has the potential to work across India. He intends to promote the film in all major cities throughout North India. As such, he requires adequate time.

So, the producer and Nikhil Siddharth are said to be at odds over the release date.
