Sukumar in talks with a Bollywood actor for Pushpa!

‘Pushpa’ was launched in 2019 in December. Nearly after a year, the film has not yet begun its regular shoot. Not only that, director Sukumar couldn’t finalize the film’s antagonist so far. This may sound strange, but that is how Sukumar works – slow and steady.

After delivering the massive success of ‘Ala Vaikunthapurramloo’, Allu Arjun planned this film to be his first pan-India project and unveiled the first look of it in multiple languages with much fanfare in April this year. Rashmika Mandanna has been cast as the female lead.

Vijay Sethupati was the first choice for the villain’s role, but the Tamil star turned down the offer owing to his commitments in the Tamil industry. Nara Rohith and two Kannada stars were considered for the same role. Somehow, nothing has been materialized.

Shoot to begin in East Godavari

Now, Sukumar is said to be in talks with some of the Bollywood stars. There is a buzz that he would rope in an erstwhile Bollywood hero as the main villain.

Meanwhile, the production house is making all arrangements in the Maredumilli agency area in East Godavari district in Andhra Pradesh for its regular shoot. The shoot is expected to begin later this month.

Produced by Mythri Movie Makers, ‘Pushpa’ deals with the topic of red sanders smuggling in the Chittoor region in Andhra Pradesh. Allu Arjun will be seen as a transporter. Devi Sri Prasad is composing the music. Since this is Sukumar’s next film after the blockbuster ‘Rangasthalam’, the expectations are high.
