Sukumar not ready with RC17 script, launch likely after Dasara

Ram Charan and Sukumar announced their much-anticipated second collaboration a while ago, with the director reportedly putting aside other commitments to focus on the project. However, the film is unlikely to commence anytime soon as Sukumar is yet to finalize the complete script.

Sources say Sukumar wanted to assess the final result of “Peddi” before locking the narrative. While the film has crossed the Rs 300 crore gross mark worldwide and helped Ram Charan regain momentum, it fell short of becoming the pan-Indian blockbuster many expected.

With his next project carrying huge expectations, Ram Charan is aiming for a film that can surpass Rs 500 crore globally and make a significant impact in North America, ideally crossing the $5 million mark.

As a result, Sukumar has reportedly asked for additional time to fine-tune the script. Industry buzz suggests that RC17 will move to the floors only after Dasara, provided the director completes the screenplay to his satisfaction.

Meanwhile, Ram Charan is expected to undergo hand surgery for an injury sustained during the shooting of “Peddi.” He also plans to take time for a physical makeover before starting the film.

There is also speculation that Ram Charan may greenlight another project and accelerate work on multiple films while waiting for Sukumar to complete RC17.
