For many months, the Telugu film industry has been churning out mass entertainers, big-budgeted spectacles, or period dramas. Simple and clean family entertainers have stopped coming out these days. ‘Swathi Muthyam’ will fill the void, says producer Naga Vamsi confidently.
“DJ Tillu was the last hilarious entertainer. In the last 6, 7 months, the Telugu audiences could not get the opportunity to watch a film with the entire family members. Swathi Muthyam is one such. I don’t claim it is a great film. All I can say, the film is a decent entertainer. It will appeal to a cross-section of audiences,” he added.
Further spilling the beans, he said the film also deals with the topic of sperm donation acceptably. “No one will feel embarrassed watching it. It is aimed at family audiences. Regarding competing with the two biggies, a festival like Dasara season can accommodate two biggies and one small film easily,” he reasoned.
Swathimuthyam stars debutant Ganesh and Varsha Bollamma as the lead pair.
Naga Vamsi also spoke about other productions like ‘DJ Tillu 2’ and ‘#SSMB28’. “DJ Tillu 2 has begun the shooting. Anupama Parameswaran has been selected as the heroine. The film is aimed for 2023 release.”
“We have requested Trivikram garu to think about incorporating an item song in #SSMB28, but he has not taken any decision. We are hopeful that he will grant our request. Mahesh Babu plays a role that has not done so far,” Naga Vamsi said.
