Director Lakshman K Krishna is making his debut with ‘Swathimuthyam’, which features debutant Bellamkoonda Ganesh and Varsha Bollamma as the lead pair. Produced by Suryadevara Naga Vamsi, the film is slated for release on October 5. Ahead of the release, the young director had an interaction with the media.

Hailing from Pithapuram in East Godavari, Lakshman Krishna began his career as a short-film director.

He also made an hour-long Independent film “Sadaa Mee Premalo” with a budget of 12 lakhs which fetched him an offer from Ganesh who was looking for scripts.

Talking about “Swathimuthyam”, he says the film is the story of a guy named Balamuralikrishna. “As soon he gets a job, his family is hell-bent on getting him married soon. What happens next and what challenges he faces is the story. It is a simple story. There are no villains in the film,” he said.

When asked about choosing the classic title, he said it was not his choice. The producer felt that this classic title would suit better for the story. The young director names Maniratnam, Vamsy, Bapu, and Jandhyala as his inspiration in film direction.
