After months of speculation, it is now official. Toxic, starring Yash, will not release in March as initially planned. The makers have postponed the film from March 19 to June 4, 2026.
While the team had repeatedly denied delay reports earlier, they have now cited the ongoing Middle East conflict as a key reason behind the decision. The Gulf region is considered a crucial overseas market for the film, and the crisis in major territories like the UAE and Saudi Arabia reportedly influenced the shift.
The postponement will also give the team additional time to mount stronger promotional campaigns in the run-up to release. Filmed in Kannada and English for a global audience, the team is said to have consulted distribution partners before arriving at the new date.
Trade circles had already been buzzing about a possible delay, especially after the first single featuring Yash and Kiara Advani received a lukewarm response. Even some of Yash’s ardent fans felt the film required more aggressive promotions for wider reach. Considering these factors along with the Iran-linked geopolitical tensions, the makers finally locked June 4 as the new release date.
The project is crucial for Yash, who has devoted over three years to it after delivering the record-breaking blockbuster KGF Chapter 2.
Directed by Geetu Mohandas, the film features an ensemble cast including Nayanthara, Rukmini Vasanth, Tara Sutaria, and Huma Qureshi.
