After battling with the respiratory disease for months, legendary singer SP Balasubrahmanyam who is fondly called Balu breathed his last on Friday at MGM Health Care hospital in Chennai.
His son SP Charan announced that SPB has died at 1.04 PM.
The celebrated singer-actor has succumbed to a serious lung condition. He was detected COVID-19 positive on August 5. He did recover and was tested negative for COVID1-19 on September 8, but his lung condition did not improve. He had been on a ventilator and maximum life support ever since then.

Aged 74, the veteran singer, actor, and producer had sung in nearly 40,000 songs in many Indian languages that include Telugu, Tamil, Hindi, Kannada, and Malayalam.
