Vijay’s political storm delays Sundeep Kishan’s film!
Tamil superstar Vijay has been in the spotlight lately due to ongoing political controversies ahead of the Tamil Nadu Assembly elections and his divorce case with his wife. While the fate of his upcoming film “Jana Nayagan” hangs in the balance, another project connected to his family is also facing uncertainty.
Vijay’s son Jason Sanjay chose not to pursue acting and instead stepped into filmmaking. He has directed a film titled “Sigma,” starring Sundeep Kishan and Faria Abdullah. The Tamil–Telugu bilingual action thriller, produced by Lyca Productions, was initially scheduled to hit theaters in December 2025 but was later postponed.
Industry buzz suggests that Lyca Productions is hesitant to release the film until the controversies surrounding Vijay settle down. If the film releases now, Jason Sanjay would have to face the media, and questions about his father’s political journey and his parents’ divorce could dominate the conversation. This might shift the focus away from the film itself and onto his personal life.
Because of this, the production house is reportedly planning to release the film only after the Tamil Nadu Assembly elections.
As a result, Vijay’s political entry appears to have impacted not only his own film “Jana Nayagan” but also his son’s directorial debut.
The high-octane, money-centric heist thriller has a strong Telugu connection as well. Apart from the lead actors, the music of “Sigma” is composed by S. Thaman, adding further interest among Telugu audiences.
