Amazon Prime backs out of Vijay’s ‘Jana Nayagan’ OTT deal?

Tamil superstar Vijay, who launched a political party named TV, has been facing lot of issues and controversies. Besides the divorce case with his wife and alleged relationship with Trisha, he has another problem related to his movie, Jana Nayagan. The film has not yet cleared censor and got postponed from January 2026 release.
The latest the film has reportedly faced another setback as streaming giant Amazon Prime Video is said to have cancelled the OTT deal.
According to reports in trade circles, Amazon Prime Video had earlier acquired the digital streaming rights of Jana Nayagan for around Rs 120 crore. However, the platform has now allegedly withdrawn from the agreement.
The reason cited for the cancellation is that the film was not released within the expected timeline and had also not completed the censor certification process during the scheduled period. Due to these delays, the streaming platform reportedly decided to exit the deal.
The makers of the film are yet to officially respond to these reports. It remains to be seen whether the team will finalize a new OTT partner once the film completes its release process.
