None of the new films released after “Kalki 2898 AD” made an impression at the box office. The distributors and exhibitors are placing big hopes on I-Day films such as “Mr. Bachchan” and “Double iSmart.” Meanwhile, a film starring newbies drew a weekend crowd.
Produced by Niharika Konidela, “Committee Kurrollu” starred newcomers and was directed by debutant Yadhu Vamsi. The film received average reviews. It also raised a decent amount of money during the first weekend. It made more money in Hyderabad than in the other locations. For this type of movie, the collections are good.
The film had its problems, but overall it was a decent show that saw improvement on Saturday and Sunday. The film must sustain its momentum until the release of the I-Day films in theaters.
“Committee Kurrollu” was Niharika Konidela’s first production on her banner – Pink Elephant.
