Wild Dog is meant for theaters only: Nagarjuna

Wild Dog’ featuring Nagarjuna as the main lead will release in theaters on April 2nd. The film was to release directly on Netflix. We broke the news that Netflix bagged the movie’s rights for a whopping Rs 27 crore. However, Nagarjuna made producers cancel the agreement with Netflix to have a theatrical release.

The team of ‘Wild Dog’ met the press today to announce the release date. 

“The film’s shoot was completed in November last year. Back then, I was not sure whether people would return to cinema halls like before. So, I had agreed to a direct-OTT release and our producer made a good deal with Netflix. But seeing the results of Krack and Uppena, I am convinced that audiences are ready to watch good films in theaters only. So, we modified the agreement with Netflix. We are releasing the film in theaters first,” Nagarjuna said.

‘Wild Dog’ is directed by writer Ahisor Solomon. An action thriller, the film deals with an NIA operation. Nagarjuna plays an NIA officer in the film. 

Bollywood actress Dia Mirza is making her Telugu debut. Saiyami Kher and Ali Reja will be seen in other important roles. ‘Wild Dog’ is produced by Matinee Entertainments.
