Will NTR start building a foundation for a political entry?

The massive success of Vijay’s electoral debut has sparked conversations across industries, raising hopes that more film stars could follow suit. Among the current generation of top actors, NTR Jr. is often seen as the strongest contender for a future political plunge.
NTR Jr carries a formidable legacy. His grandfather N. T. Rama Rao founded the Telugu Desam Party and swept to power in 1983. The party later came under the leadership of N. Chandrababu Naidu, who continues to hold a firm grip, with his son Nara Lokesh widely seen as the next in line.
Despite this succession narrative, NTR Jr is often viewed by fans as the true heir to the party’s legacy. Known for his commanding public speaking and strong connect with the masses, he possesses key traits required for political success. However, timing and preparation remain crucial.
Vijay’s journey offers a template. Over a decade, he consistently delivered hits while embedding social messages and subtle political commentary in his films, eventually stepping into politics after turning 50. NTR Jr, currently 43, has time on his side to build a similar foundation over the next six to seven years before considering a political entry.
For now, he remains focused on cinema, working on “Dragon” with director Prashanth Neel. Whether he will eventually take the political route remains an open question, but the speculation around his future continues to grow.
