Current ticket prices in theaters to continue in AP!

There will not be any hike in ticket prices in cinema halls in Andhra Pradesh. The state government has made its stand clear. The government today introduced a bill in the assembly to amend the Cinematography Act. The bill proposes an online ticketing system in all theaters in the state.

FDC (Film Development Corporation) will run the ticket booking portal.

Perni Nani, Andhra Pradesh Minister for Cinematography, said the online ticketing would ensure uniform ticket prices across the state. It is an open secret that theaters sell hiked prices on the first weekend when a big star movie releases. But now, all films need to be screened at the government prescribed rates through an online portal.

Biggies like ‘Akhanda’, ‘RRR’, ‘Pushpa’, ‘Bheemla Nayak’ and ‘Acharya’ will suffer heavily. The overall theatrical businesses of these biggies will come down drastically.
