Director Sukumar scored the biggest blockbuster in his career with ‘Rangasthalam’ that hit the screens in 2018 March. More than two years have passed since the release of this film, and he has not yet begun the shoot of his new film titled ‘Pushpa’
He lost more than a year waiting to get a nod from Mahesh Babu after the release of ‘Rangasthalam’ and then waited for Allu Arjun to complete ‘Ala Vaikunthapurramloo’. Thus he lost two years after delivering a mammoth hit like ‘Rangasthalam’.
Just days before the commencement of the regular shoot of ‘Pushpa’ with Allu Arjun, the lockdown was announced. The shoot may not commence for another two months. So, he will be losing nearly three years of precious time. Any other director would have made two more films cashing in on the massive success of ‘Rangasthalam’ and Sukumar by nature takes things slowly.
In the meantime, Sukumar is busy penning scripts for web series which will be directed by his associates.
