The Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) has issued notices to two major Hyderabad film studios: Annapurna Studios and Ramanaidu Studios, accusing them of underreporting their operational areas and evading trade license fee.

According to GHMC officials, Annapurna Studios has been paying only Rs 49,000, whereas its actual payable amount is Rs 11.52 lakh. The corporation states that while the studio operates across 1.92 lakh square feet, it has declared only 8,100 square feet for the trade license.

Similarly, the officials found that Ramanaidu Studios has declared a mere 1,900 square feet, though it operates over 68,000 square feet. Its required fee is Rs 2.74 lakh, far above what is currently being paid.

The GHMC has directed both studios to clear the full fees based on their actual operational areas and has cautioned them against tax evasion.

Ramanaidu Studios is operated by producer D. Suresh Babu, with his brother Venkatesh as a partner. Annapurna Studios is owned by Nagarjuna Akkineni and his family.
