Is Suresh Babu planning iconic tower for the Film Chamber?

Veteran producer Suresh Babu has recently taken charge as the new president of the Telugu Film Chamber of Commerce, along with an entirely new executive body.
Interestingly, the new team is said to be considering a major overhaul of the Film Chamber’s current premises located in Film Nagar. The existing building, one of the oldest structures in the area, is reportedly being viewed as inadequate for the present-day needs of the Telugu film industry. Sources indicate that the space is congested and no longer aligned with modern functional requirements.
According to information reaching TeluguCinema.com, Suresh Babu and his team are exploring the possibility of dismantling the existing Film Chamber building and handing over the land to a construction firm. The proposal reportedly involves the construction of a new, iconic tower at the same location.
This development, however, comes as a surprise to many within the industry. The newly elected committee is largely known for its stand against unnecessary expenditure and construction projects. The move has therefore sparked discussion, with some questioning whether such a redevelopment aligns with the team’s stated principles.
Industry observers are also drawing parallels with past unfulfilled promises. Former Movie Artistes’ Association (MAA) president Manchu Vishnu had announced plans for a dedicated MAA building during his election campaign. However, even after more than three years in office, the proposal has not seen any tangible progress.
