Why Ustaad Bhagat Singh skips item song; director explains

With the buzz around “Ustaad Bhagat Singh” growing as the release date approaches, the makers have started revealing more details about what audiences can expect from the film. Director Harish Shankar has now clarified that the movie will not feature an item song.
Harish Shankar earlier teamed up with Pawan Kalyan for the blockbuster “Gabbar Singh,” which had the popular item number “Kevvu Keka” featuring Malaika Arora. The song became a massive hit at the time.
However, the director has said that audiences should not expect a similar track this time.
Explaining the reason, Harish Shankar said that Pawan Kalyan is currently serving as the Deputy Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh, and the team felt it would be appropriate to maintain the decorum of the position.
“Keeping the value of his post in mind, we felt it would not be right for him to dance in an item song. The film will still entertain fans with strong mass elements,” he stated.
In the film, Pawan Kalyan plays an IPS officer named Bhagat Singh. The movie also stars Raashii Khanna as Shloka and Sreeleela as Geetha.
