Last weekend, Pan Indian movie ‘Brahamstra’ and Sharwanand’s ‘Oke Oka Jeevitham’ arrived in the theaters. Expectedly, ‘Brahmastra’ raked in big money. The film set a new record on the first day in the Telugu states but saw a drop in collections on Saturday. Overall, ‘Brahmastra’ made big money in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana in the first weekend.
‘Brahmastra’ collected Rs 12 crore share in the first weekend. This is huge! The Hindi film also raked in Rs 100 Crore plus net in India. In the USA, the film grossed whopping $4.4 million in the first weekend.
On the other hand, Sharwanand’s ‘Oke Oka Jeevitham’ had a slow start. Strong word-of-mouth and positive reviews helped the film immensely. The collections doubled on Saturday. On Sunday, it posted the best amount. It needs to hold the grip during weekdays to emerge as a decent hit.
For Sharwanand, ‘Oke Oka Jeevitham’ is the first positive result in the last three years. In the USA, the film grossed $300k in the first weekend. It collected more than the lifetime gross of ‘Aadavallu Meeku Joharlu’ in just three days.
A dubbed movie ‘Captain’ was a washout.
