The majority of the theatrical business in a year occurs during the summer vacation. This year, however, the season was a snoozer. Last weekend’s releases, such as ‘Takkar,’ ‘Vimanam,’ and ‘Unstoppable,’ also failed to make an impression at the box office. The total collections for all films are insignificant.
Despite Siddharth’s aggressive promotion, ‘Takkar’ failed to make even a respectable profit in its first weekend. The small film ‘Vimanam’ is better suited for OTT consumption than theaters. The comedy film ‘Unstoppable’ not only received low ratings, but it also grossed almost nothing.
All eyes and hopes are now on Prabhas’s ‘Adipurush,’ a mythological epic drama.
The film will be widely distributed around the world. The government of Andhra Pradesh is likely to agree to a Rs 50 increase in ticket prices. The film will be released for the maximum allowed price in Telanana.
Prabhas should now bring the business out of this dull phase.
