‘Custody’ has a lackluster first weekend

Custody

Last weekend, Tamil director Venkat Prabhu’s police drama ‘Custody’ was released in Telugu and Tamil simultaneously. The film, which starred Naga Chaitanya as a police constable and Krithi Shetty as his girlfriend, received no audience support. The Telugu version’s first weekend numbers are low. The makers had hoped for growth on Sunday, but it did not occur.

Despite the presence of many Tamil actors, ‘Custody’ was not successful in Tamilnadu.

‘Custody’ grossed $226k (Rs 1.80 crore gross) at the box office in the United States. However, it may not add any further.

Naga Chaitanya put in a lot of effort for this film, and his sincere performance was appreciated, but the film received mostly negative reviews and reactions.

Eleven other films were released in theaters last weekend but went unnoticed. At the moment, no film is luring audiences to the theaters. The run of Sai Dharam Tej’s ‘Virupaksha’ was almost over. Except for a couple of multiplexes in Hyderabad, the controversial film ‘The Kerala Story,’ which is being heavily promoted by BJP leaders, has not performed well. Overall, a lacklustre box office performance.
