The second-day collections of “Akhanda 2” remain fairly stable, with no major dip. Typically, big-budget star films witness a sharp fall if audience feedback is mixed. However, despite negative reactions on day one, Akhanda 2 has managed to sustain its momentum, registering only a routine drop in collections and avoiding a significant slide.
The film continued to perform well in Hyderabad. The all-India net collection for the second day is estimated at approximately Rs 16 crore. With this, the total two-day domestic net collection stands at around Rs 46 crore. “Akhanda 2” is expected to maintain a similar pace on Sunday.
According to BookMyShow, the ticketing platform, the number of tickets booked are as follows:
Directed by Boyapati Sreenu, the devotional action drama features Nandamuri Balakrishna in a dual role, with Samyuktha as the female lead and Harshaali Malhotra playing his daughter.
While the film has received largely negative reviews from critics and industry feedback has also been subdued, the devotional elements appear to have helped prevent a sharper decline at the box office.
In the North American market, however, “Akhanda 2” continues to underperform, with collections crossing just over USD 700K so far. The film may not even touch $1 million mark by the end of the first weekend. Balakrishna’s previous movie “Daaku Maharaj” grossed over $1 million on the release day itself.
