A Pawan Kalyan film typically guarantees a thunderous opening, with fans thronging theaters in large numbers. “Ustaad Bhagat Singh” followed the same trend on its opening day, but the results have been mixed across regions.
While the film posted strong and impressive collections in Andhra Pradesh, it witnessed comparatively modest performance in Telangana. The primary reason is the stiff competition from Dhurandhar: The Revenge starring Ranveer Singh, which dominated screens in Hyderabad and other parts of Telangana. A similar trend was observed in North America as well.
Despite this competition, “Ustaad Bhagat Singh” managed to put up solid numbers. The film reportedly collected around Rs 38 crore gross in India on Day 1, taking its worldwide gross to approximately Rs 48 crore. While these figures are decent, trade analysts believe the film could have performed even better had it stuck to its originally planned March 26 release date instead of advancing it.
Directed by Harish Shankar, the cop drama features Raashi Khanna and Sreeleela as the female leads. With music composed by Devi Sri Prasad and Thaman S, and produced by Mythri Movie Makers, the film showcases Pawan Kalyan in a vintage, mass-appealing avatar.
