Ranveer Singh’s “Dhurandhar” continues its unstoppable march at the North American box office. By the end of its fourth weekend, the film has grossed an impressive $16 million, breaking the lifetime records of several major Indian blockbusters, including Animal, Jawan, RRR, and Pushpa 2.
The film shows no signs of slowing down, adding solid numbers with every passing weekend. As of December 29, “Dhurandhar” has collected $16.3 million in North America.
With this momentum, the film is set to comfortably surpass Shah Rukh Khan’s “Pathaan,” which previously stood as the highest-grossing Bollywood film in the region with $17.5 million. “Dhurandhar” is now poised to claim that title in the coming days.
The bigger challenge, however, lies ahead. SS Rajamouli’s “Baahubali 2” has been reigning supreme as the all-time highest-grossing Indian film in North America since 2017, with a massive $20.5 million haul. To dethrone it, “Dhurandhar” needs to add nearly $4 million, a tough target. But it is not entirely out of reach given its phenomenal run.
For now, the film is expected to first cross “Pathaan” and then overtake “Kalki 2898 AD,” which stands at $18 million, before eyeing the ultimate milestone.
