Exclusive: Direct digital release, status of various Telugu films

Nani’s ‘V’ has opted for direct OTT release aftercoming to the conclusion that theatre release is not a viable option in thecurrent grim conditions. ‘V’ will stream on Amazon Prime on September 5, 2020. What are other films that are now considering OTT options?

Nishabdham
Anushka’s ‘Nishabdham’ is in the final stage of closing a perfect deal with the OTT platform which will be announced officially when all the legal process gets completed. This is also a major film.

Orey Bujjigaa
Our sources say, Raj Tarun’s ‘Orey Bujjigaa’ will finally be released on a streaming platform. The makers should have gone for this by now. They have wasted time with the hope that cinema halls would resume soon.

Miss India and Good Luck
SakhiKeerthy Suresh starrer ‘Miss India’ is also in thefinal stages of closing a deal with a prominent OTT player. ‘Good Luck Sakhi’has not yet initiated the process but it will also be going the same way. Keerthy Suresh’s ‘Penguin’ was the first South Indian major film to skip thetheatrical window for direct digital release.

Solo Brathuke So Better
Sai Dharam Tej’s ‘Solo Brathuke So Better’ has already been sold off to Zee TV group – both theatrical and OTT rights for a huge price. Zee TV bought the movie’s theatrical distribution rights with the hope to enter into the distribution business. But the company has not yet taken a decision whether to wait till the theaters to resume or release it on their ZEE5 platform directly.
