First Weekend: Love Story posts big numbers

Sekhar Kammula’s ‘Love Story’ had a sensational opening on the first day of its release. From Andhra to America, from Karimnagar to Kadapa, it had collected a huge amount on the first day. Due to rains, the film had seen a slight dip in collections on Saturday and Sunday. Still, the final figures for the first weekend are terrific.

The film is turning out to be the first blockbuster in Indian cinema after the second wave of the pandemic. 

It the first weekend, the film has collected about Rs 21 crore share. The film has collected about Rs 8.10 crore from Telangana. At a time theatrical business is going through a slump, ‘Love Story’ amassing such a big revenue has brought joy to the Telugu film industry.

‘Love Story’ has also crossed the $1 million mark at the box-office becoming. It is a record for any Indian film in 2021 as no film collected $1M in the first weekend. The film has a sensation run in the USA.

Sekhar Kammula has scored second consecutive success after ‘Fidaa’. The film starred Naga Chaitanya and Sai Pallavi. Narayan Das Narang and Puskur Ram Mohan Rao produced romantic drama. 

However, ‘Love Story’ will be facing a problem on Monday due to Bharat Bandh and incessant rains.
