Tenet’s poor response: An eye-opener for Tollywood!

Tenet

Christopher Nolan’s big-budgeted movie, Tenet, which was publicized as this film could save the movie theaters amid pandemic, has failed to post big numbers in the USA. Although the film has collected more than $200 million globally, its collections in the crucial North Market (the USA and Canada) are mere $30 million in two weeks.

The USA is one of the major countries that opened movie theaters despite corona cases at its peak. But hardly anyone turned up at the theaters.

When Christopher Nolan’s movie fails to attract the audiences in a pandemic, can other movies sustain in the theaters? This should be a wake-up call for Indian film producers who have been demanding to reopen the cinema halls.

The overseas market for Telugu films will remain dead for another year or so.
