Sree Vishnu’s “Single” has emerged as the true winner at the box office, thanks to its humor-filled content. The film also benefited significantly from the summer holidays. With no other major releases attracting audiences during this period, moviegoers opted for “Single” as a family-friendly laugh riot.

Gaining during the second weekend

During its first week, “Single” posted decent profits, positioning itself as a modest hit. However, it gained even more momentum over the second weekend, with collections remaining strong. Now, the film is on track to bring in huge profits for both producers and distributors.

In the Nizam region, “Single” has already recorded the highest gross of Sree Vishnu’s career, yielding excellent margins. The film is performing equally well in Andhra and overseas markets like the USA.

In North America, it has already crossed $650K (gross) and is likely to end up with over $700K, making it the second-biggest hit in Sree Vishnu’s career in the region.

Comedy is the key to success

Sree Vishnu’s comic timing and Vennela Kishore’s witty repartees have played a major role in the film’s appeal. Both female leads, Ivana and Ketika Sharma, delivered solid performances. Directed by Caarthick Raju and produced by Vidya Koppineedi, Bhanu Pratapa and Riyaj Chowdary, “Single” has clearly struck a chord with audiences.

Interestingly, the film also got a publicity boost from a pre-release controversy. Manchu Vishnu objected to a dialogue referencing the word “Manchu,” which was later replaced with “Matti” by the team. Ironically, the controversy only added to the film’s buzz.
