Since “Baahubali” in 2015, Telugu cinema had consistently featured at least one film among the top five highest-grossing Indian movies every year. However, 2025 marked a clear break from that trend. As reported earlier, no Telugu film managed to cross the Rs 300 crore mark at the box office this year.
The biggest Telugu hit of 2025 turned out to be Pawan Kalyan’s “OG,” which narrowly fell short of the Rs 300 crore milestone. As a result, for the first time in a decade, Telugu cinema failed to secure a spot in the top five highest-grossing Indian films of the year.
Bollywood dominated the 2025 box office charts, with films from Hindi cinema occupying most of the top positions. In addition, one Tamil film and one Kannada film also made it into the elite top-five list, highlighting a shift in box office dynamics.

Leading the pack is Ranveer Singh’s “Dhurandhar”, which continues to rake in massive collections even after three weeks of release. With strong momentum, the film is eyeing the Rs 1,000 crore mark and has already emerged as the biggest blockbuster of Indian cinema in 2025.
