“Ustaad Bhagat Singh” has ended its first week on a disappointing note, registering shockingly low numbers for a Pawan Kalyan starrer. The dull trend remained consistent across regions, with North America delivering the weakest performance.
The film, released on March 19, has collected a gross of Rs 77 crore in India in its first week. Overseas too, the response has been poor. In North America, the film managed only about $780K (approximately Rs 7.2 crore), reflecting its underwhelming reception.
Overall, the worldwide gross for the first week stands at around Rs 89 crore.
The film features Pawan Kalyan as a cop, with Sreeleela playing his first love and Raashi Khanna as another woman who falls for him. R. Parthiban appears as the antagonist. Directed by Harish Shankar, the film attempted to blend action with a patriotic theme but failed to strike a chord with audiences for multiple reasons.
As things stand, the film is heading towards a flop verdict, with little expected from the second weekend to significantly boost its overall tally.
