Pawan Kalyan’s “Ustaad Bhagat Singh” is gearing up for its grand premiere in North America tomorrow, and the film has already shown promising momentum in advance sales.
Despite facing stiff competition from Ranveer Singh’s Bollywood biggie “Dhurandhar The Revenge”, the sequel to “Dhurandhar”, the Telugu action entertainer has managed to hold its ground overseas. The makers initially did not anticipate significant impact from the Hindi film in the North American market, but the clash has added an interesting dimension to the box office race.
As of now, “Ustaad Bhagat Singh” has crossed the $250K mark in premiere advance sales. With nearly a day still left for the premieres, trade expects a strong surge in bookings. The big question now is whether the film can comfortably cross the $1 million milestone from premiere shows.
Directed by Harish Shankar, the film features Pawan Kalyan in a powerful cop role, with Sreeleela and Raashi Khanna playing the female leads. Interestingly, Raashi Khanna has described the film as more of a family entertainer rather than a full-on action spectacle, hinting at a broader appeal.
Meanwhile, the team is aggressively promoting the film to boost last-minute bookings.
On the domestic front, “Ustaad Bhagat Singh” has opened to a good response in advance bookings across Andhra Pradesh and Telangana. While Telangana is maintaining regular ticket pricing, Andhra Pradesh is witnessing steady traction.
