The box-office verdict is out. GA2 Pictures’ ‘Chaavu Kaburu Challaga’ is a dud. The film turned out to be a huge flop. Starring Kartikeya and Lavanya Tripathi as the lead pair, ‘Chaavu Kaburu Challaga’ hit the screens last Friday (March 19) with Allu Arjun’s promotion. However, not even Allu Arjun’s fans cared to check out the film in theaters.
In its first weekend, the film has collected about Rs 3 crore share worldwide. It needs another Rs 9 crore to get to the break-even stage, which seems impossible now. This is a major blow to producer Bunny Vaas and his team that has done a lot of drama before the release to get some publicity. But their tricks didn’t work out.
Chaavu Kaburu Challaga – Rs 2.68 Cr in AP and TS, USA: $31k
Along with this film, Manchu Vishnu and Aadi Saikumar had also tested their luck at the box-office with ‘Mosagallu’ and ‘Sashi’ respectively. Both were non-starters from the very first show, and they didn’t register any growth in the last three days. These films had collected about Rs 1 crore share together in the last three days. Both Vishnu and Aadi had added another flop to their kitty.

Sashi – Rs 30 lakhs in AP and TS
In nutshell, all three new releases had tanked last weekend. Benefitting from these failures, comedy caper ‘Jathi Ratnalu’ had a decent run. However, its collections are not as strong as the ‘Uppena’ had registered in its second weekend. ‘Jathi Ratnalu’ is continuing to be the first choice as the other films are duds.
