Last weekend saw as many as eight films hitting the theaters. Among these new releases, two are notable. They are Naga Shaurya starrer ‘Lakshya’ and Shriya starrer ‘Gamanam’.
Naga Shaurya has a lover boy image, and he gets better openings for romantic entertainers. His attempt to break away from the image could not work for him. As ‘Lakshya’ falls in the action genre, his core base of audiences didn’t step out.
‘Gamanam’ is an anthology film. The film was a disaster. It took almost Zero openings in all areas. It also received thumbs down from critics.
On the other hand, Balakrishna’s ‘Akhanda’ continued to be the first choice for the audiences. The film performed strongly on Sunday in AP and Telangana. It is also reaching towards the $1 million mark in the USA.
