Varun Tej’s new film “Operation Valentine” debuted in theaters on March 1st. The film, being the first aerial action thriller in Telugu cinema, received moderately positive reviews. Despite the grand setting and unique storyline, the audience did not show much enthusiasm to attend in big numbers.
“Operation Valentine” was also prominently released in Hindi. The collections for the Hindi version are almost nonexistent. The overseas box office revenue for the movie was also extremely low. In USA, it grossed about $125k (Rs 1.07 Cr). Overall, the film earned Rs 6 crore (share) in India during its first weekend.
Vennela Kishore portrayed the character “Chaari 111” in a comedy-spy thriller that was released on the same day and received a negative response. It was a flop.
“Bhootaddam Bhaskar Narayana” featuring Shiva Kandukuri and Ram Gopal Varma’s “Vyooham” had minimal box office earnings during their opening weekend. Overall, it was another dull weekend at the box office.
