Irrespective of reviews and word-of-mouth, Ram Pothineni’s films rake in good numbers on the first weekend. His latest film, The Warriorr, is a different case. Incessant rains have affected the openings severely. More than the ‘talk’, rains have played spoilsport.
There was no respite from the rains in many parts of Telangana bringing normal life to a standstill, and some districts in AP were also affected badly.
The four-day weekend collection for ‘The Warrior’ is not all rosy. The film has collected about Rs 16.8 Crore (share) worldwide in four days. Rs 14 plus crore came from Andhra Pradesh and Telangana, with the major share coming from Andhra.
Directed by Lingusamy, ‘The Warriorr’ was released in Telugu and Tamil simultaneously. In Tamil, too, the situation is dull. Director Lingusamy doesn’t have a craze in Tamilnadu as he had enjoyed a decade ago. So, his name could not bring any noticeable opening for the Tamil version.
Despite these problems, the film collecting more than Rs 14 crore share in Telugu states proves Ram’s pulling power.
