Sankranthi has evolved into such an important festival season for the Telugu film industry that many films strive to be released dur ing this time each year. Many producers schedule this date a year in advance. We’ve already seen how the makers of “Hanu Man” caused a stir when they couldn’t find enough theaters this Sankranthi.
The competition in 2025 will be even more intense.
As of now, half a dozen movies have announced their plans for the next Sankranthi festival (January 10 to 15, 2025).
Vishwambhara
Megastar Chiranjeevi stars in this fantasy film produced by Vikram Reddy and UV Creations. Vassisht directed “Vishwambhara” has already set a January 10, 2025 release date. The film’s shooting is currently underway.
Sankranthiki Vastunnamu
Director Anil Ravipudi scored two of his biggest hits – “F2” and “Sarileru Neekevvaru”- during this season. He has already announced a new film with Venkatesh, scheduled for release on January 12, 2025. The film’s tentative title is “Sankranthiki Vastunnamu”.
The Raja Saab
Prabhas’ film “The Raja Saab” is being directed by Maruthi. The film, which is billed as a full-length entertainer, has been in production for more than a year now. The producers recently unveiled a motion poster for this film and announced its release date as Sankranthi 2025.
Good Bad Ugly
Mythri Movie Makers, a well-known Telugu production house, is expanding into the Tamil film industry and has announced a film titled “Good Bad Ugly” starring Ajith Kumar. The planned release date is Pongal 2025.
Bangarraju 2
Nagarjuna Akkineni is currently shooting for director Sekhar Kammula’s film “Kubera”. He plays an important role in this film, which features Dhanush as the hero. Aside from this film, he will soon begin working on “Bangarraju 2”. Nagarjuna is known to have developed a Sankranthi sentiment.
Shatamanam Bhavati 2
“Shatamanam Bhavati” was released in 2017and became a success competing with big-budget films. Given this sentiment, producer Dil Raju recently announced a sequel and confirmed the Sankranthi 2025 release date.
