Doing different films is my forte and I feel that I have made a name for myself in trying such stuff. So, when Prabhu came to me with this film, everything about it was rather different. I loved the man-animal conflict.

Tells about your role?

I play Aranya, the forest man in the film. It is based on a real-life story and I am the one who lives in the forests and fights for the elephants and their survival. I have never done such a positive role so far in my career.

How did you prepare for this role?

Director Prabhu asked me to come to the sets 15 days before the shoot. I started living with the elephants and got trained by the mahouts. It was a really scary experience for me to shoot with the elephants. Also, Prabhu asked me to behave like an animal, and this part was also quite tough getting it right.

What made you say yes to the Ayyapanum Koshiyum remake?

The film had everything I was looking forward to. A perfect role, and an opportunity to act with Pawan Kalyan. I am loving the shoots and my scenes with Pawan Kalyan garu are the ones to watch out for.

You have been being part of an-Indian projects….

Yes, I am fortunate to get to work with great stars like Amitabh Bachchan, Ajith Kumar, and Pawan Kalyan. And also, today everyone is talking about the Telugu Cinema industry and our stars. Ten years ago, many in the Mumbai industry used to club both Telugu and Tamil films together. Now, they know more about our Telugu films. Pan-India projects have become a regular trend.
