Meenakshi Chaudhary starred opposite Dulquer Salmaan in “Lucky Baskhar,” which is set to be released on 31st October. The actress portraying Baskhar’s wife, Sumathi, engaged with the press in Hyderabad as part of the film’s promotional activities.

On collaborating with Dulquer Salmaan and the team

“Dulquer Salmaan and I needed to be adequately prepared and at ease to convey and comprehend the requirements of the story. Dulquer Garu is a terrific actor. It was a learning experience.

“Lucky Baskhar” is filled with emotions and is incredibly relatable.

Playing the role of Sumathi

I am capable of portraying both younger and older characters at my current age. In a few years, I may no longer be able to portray younger roles. Therefore, it inspires me to push myself to the limit. I found the role of Sumathi to be incredibly relatable. I had sufficient time to prepare for Sumathi’s character, which enabled me to portray it in accordance with the director’s expectations.

Middle-class roles

“I also come from a middle-class family. Sumathi is a middle-class wife. It was effortless for me to embody such a role, as I was raised in a similar environment. My mother is a homemaker who completed her education up to the 10th grade. Our family’s roots are from a small village in Punjab. In my region, I was the first Miss India and the first doctor from that village. I am the first individual from my family and village to enter the media industry. This background greatly aids me in my roles.”

Disappointment of ‘Guntur Karam’

“I understand that the limited role in “Guntur Kaaram” disheartened my fans and well-wishers. I don’t want to talk about what transpired behind the scenes. However, I can promise my fans that I have a solid and lengthy role in “Lucky Baskhar.” And it is the same production team that produced both ‘Guntur Kaaram’ and ‘Lucky Baskhar’. So, I have no problems with the ‘Guntur Karam’ team.”

Forthcoming projects

“I am here to continue working on quality projects. Two films—Matka and Mechanic Rocky—will get to theaters in November. Sankrathi 2025 will see the release of Venkatesh—Anil Ravipudi’s film. Two more projects are under discussion.”
