At what point did your interest in movies develop? How did you secure the role in ‘Mr. Bachchan’?
Although my family originally came from Aurangabada, Maharashtra, we have relocated to Lagos, Nigeria. I had my schooling in Lagos. I arrived in Mumbai with the purpose of pursuing a career in business management. I had ample encouragement to pursue a career in modeling during my academic studies. I have done several commercial advertisements. When I came know about the heroine’s chance in “Mr. Bachchan”, I flew down to Hyderabad in order to participate in auditions. Director Harish Shankar and the producers liked my audition well. I completed a look test with Ravi Teja and obtained a perfect score.
Did you manage to equal Ravi Teja’s level of energy?
I strive to exert maximum effort and demonstrate unwavering dedication when undertaking tasks, ensuring a diligent work ethic. Ravi Teja is known for high energy, and I exerted my utmost effort to match his level.
Tell us more about your role?
Jikki is the name of my character. She is a girl of Telugu and Marwadi descent. The director has designed this character with exquisite beauty. Jikki plays a pivotal role in Bachchan’s life. The audience will enjoy my antics.
Which scene from “Mr. Bachchan” do you consider to be the most exceptional?
I am required to execute a challenging sequence in a tape-recording shop for this film. At the end of the sequence, the director expressed his joy, stating, ‘I am proud of you’. I shall eternally retain that compliment in my memory.
Tell us about your experience working with Ravi Teja and Harish Shankar.
Harish is an extremely passionate director. Collaborating with him was an enjoyable experience. Harish and Ravi Teja have a wealth of experience in the film industry. I have just made a brief appearance in the Bollywood film “Chandu Champion” and have not been involved in any other film projects. Despite being a rookie, Ravi Teja Garu ensured my comfort on the sets. Both of them provided me with valuable lessons in the art of acting. Ravi Teja has taught me the importance of respecting one’s art, regardless of whether one is a newbie or an experienced person in the area.
You dubbed your voice in Telugu. How did you manage it?
I suggested to the director that the audiences would establish a stronger connection if I delivered the dialogue in Telugu using my own voice. Initially, Telugu dubbing seemed challenging. However, the direction department and team’s guidance greatly aided me in successfully completing the task. I completed the dubbing process in just a week.
The dance steps you’ve performed are gaining popularity and becoming a trend in reels.
I enjoy dance. I am delighted by the overwhelmingly positive reception of the dance moments. This is a dream come true.
People have started to describe you as a “new national crush.” How do you take it?
I appreciate your kind words and consider this tag to be a compliment. (laughter).
