Actor Akhil Raj Uddemari clarifies viral delivery boy controversy

Young actor Akhil Raj Uddemari, who gained recognition with “Raju Weds Rambai”, has responded to the controversy surrounding his altercation with a food delivery executive, a video of which recently went viral on social media.

Issuing a video statement, Akhil Raj said the delivery executive had arrived at his residence with a food order that nobody in his family had placed. According to him, the delivery executive allegedly abused his mother and other family members after being told that no such order had been made.

Speaking in the video, Akhil Raj said: “No one at our house had ordered food that day, but a food parcel was delivered. My mother accepted it and asked who had placed the order. When she realized nobody in our family had ordered it, she kept it aside.”

“A few minutes later, the delivery executive returned and started abusing my mother, asking if we would accept food just because it was free. He appeared to be intoxicated and came at my mother and other family members in an aggressive manner.”

“As a son, I stepped in to protect my family and only asked him to speak respectfully. The delivery executive then started recording a video and threatened to upload it on social media.”

Akhil Raj said many people criticized him online without knowing the full story. He also pointed out that he comes from a middle-class background and understands the struggles of delivery workers.

“I myself have done delivery jobs in the past. Even my film talks about self-respect. Why would I pick a fight with a delivery executive without any reason? What do I gain from it? I’m giving this clarification only for those who have been criticizing me on social media.”
