Aishwarya Rajesh is one of the most versatile actresses in South Indian cinema. Known for her natural performances, she is equally fluent in Telugu and Tamil. Though her family hails from Andhra Pradesh, she built a successful career in the Tamil film industry, earning both critical acclaim and commercial success.
However, success in Telugu cinema has largely eluded her. That changed when director Anil Ravipudi cast her opposite Venkatesh in “Sankranthiki Vasthunnam.” Playing the actor’s wife, Aishwarya won appreciation, and the film went on to gross over Rs 250 crore worldwide, becoming the biggest hit of her career.
The blockbuster raised expectations that she would receive more offers in Tollywood. Surprisingly, that did not happen. Over the past two years, she signed only one Telugu film, Oh Sukumari, opposite Thiruveer.
Released this week, “Oh Sukumari” failed to make an impact at the box office. The film opened to poor collections and received largely negative reviews from critics.
With the film ending as a disappointment, Aishwarya Rajesh’s Telugu career has once again hit a roadblock. Whether she can bounce back with stronger projects remains to be seen.
