Exclusive: ‘Akhanda 2’ distributors meeting scheduled tomorrow

Despite social media chatter for attention, the actual developments surrounding “Akhanda 2” are far from over. The new release date has not been finalized yet. Although some financial issues have been settled, the complete payment schedule is still under discussion.

To expedite the process, industry leaders have called for a crucial meeting with the distributors who acquired the film’s theatrical rights. This meeting is expected to take place tomorrow in Hyderabad.
Nizam distributor Dil Raju is already in the city, while the Andhra and Rayalaseema distributors have been asked to attend the meeting on Sunday.Although phone discussions have been happening for days, a final decision could only be locked after this face-to-face meeting.

December 25th is being considered as a strong option due to the extended holiday period.

Shocking Pending Payments

“Akhanda 2,” produced by 14 Reels Plus and directed by Boyapati Sreenu, is facing serious financial hurdles. Those mediating to resolve the issue were shocked at the amounts still due to various parties, not just the old dues to Eros International and local financiers.

Even Balakrishna and Boyapati have not received their full remuneration yet, and some technicians’ payments are pending as well. Despite this, the producers went ahead with plans for a December 5th release.

Now, the focus is on settling all dues and locking a fresh release date through tomorrow’s crucial meeting.
