After his arrest on Friday, ‘Pushpa 2’ star Allu Arjun received a 14-day jail term. Nampally court refused to grant bail to the actor, and police shifted him to Chanchalaguda jail. He was remanded for 14 days.
The high court also declined to expedite the bail petition and rescheduled it for Monday.
The Sandhya theatre stampede last week resulted in the death of one woman and the injuries of her nine-year-old son, leading to the designation of Allu Arjun as A11.
Allegations suggest that Telangana Chief Minister Anumula Revanth Reddy took it personally when Allu Arjun struggled to recall the Chief Minister’s name during a press meet. However, in a conversation with media representatives, the chief minister refuted any involvement in the case, stating that the law follows its own course and he does not interfere with police work.
Before the star’s transfer to jail, Allu Arjun’s father, Allu Aravind, and brother, Sirish, were with him. Director Trivikram also went to meet Allu Arjun and extend his solidarity to the star.
The reports, which claimed that neither the star nor the theater had previously informed the police about the team’s visit, proved to be inaccurate. The police received a copy of a letter Sandhya Theater submitted to them, informing them of plans for the film’s stars, Allu Arjun and Rashmika Mandana, to visit the theater at 9:30 pm. The letter is doing the rounds on social media now.
