When director Gunasekhar’s mythological 3D drama “Shaakuntalam” with Samantha in the lead was released in theaters last month, it was a box office flop. Critics gave the film the lowest ratings. Telugucinema.com declared it an epic fail in its review, writing, “The 3D effect is a total bust. Because of its dull narrative, mediocre visual graphics, and lifeless score, this mythological film is tedious to watch.”
The film is now available on Amazon Prime. Those who have seen the film on this streaming platform have taken to social media to express their outrage at this ludicrous effort.
Many people are mocking director Gunasekhar. Some speculated that the visual effects were created by a new batch of students at a local VFX training institute in Ameerpet. Some are wondering if the social media “Edits” batch used apps to work on the film’s 3D.
Some have also criticized Samantha’s selection. They say her performance is superficial. The main trolling, however, is directed at its director, and people on social media claim that he is completely delusory.
Dil Raju, the film’s producer, recently stated that it was one of his worst decisions in his career. He lost approximately Rs 25 crore on his investment.
